garbanzo bean burgers


  • 1 can garbanzo beans
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1/2 c bread crumbs (can also use 1/4 c panko, 1/4 c whole wheat)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 c fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • pepper

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat add onion and saute 5 minutes until soft season with salt and pepper. Place garbanzo beans in a food processor and process until smooth, add minced garlic, tahini, lime, and cilantro pulse together until combined. Stir together chickpea mixture, bread crumbs and onions. Drop by 1/4 c patties into a preheated skillet coated with 1 tbsp olive oil and cook 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
